V.Academic Prerequisities

  • ​Minimum 62.5% marks in annual system or 2.5 CGPA out of 4.0 in all subjects from HEC recognized university as a regular student.
  • ​No 3rd Division or Grade D and only one 2nd Division/ Grade C throughout the academic career i.e. Matric to MA/ MSc/ BS.
  • ​Candidates graduated from HEC recognized universities or foreign universities recognized by HEC are eligible.
  • ​Candidates must have attained the entire education (Matric till MA/MSc/BS) as a regular student.
  • ​MPhil/ MS/ PhD will be given preference.
  • ​Candidates only graduated from HEC/ PEC recognized universities.
  • ​Candidates who have not completed 4 years degree in given discipline are ineligible.

Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure

Registration Process

  • Online Registration: Candidates must register on the website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk.
  • Exam Slip: It normally takes 5 to 7 working days for the generation of the exam slip after successful registration.
  • Registration Fee: The fee is required to be deposited in NBP GHQ Branch (IBAN Number: PK46NBPA0330004256466227) with the title 'Registration and Examination Fee Personnel Administration Directorate'.
  • ​Candidates must attain working knowledge of computers as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.
  • ​Candidates must bring all necessary documents (as per the list mentioned in the advertisement) and the prospectus fee for registration formalities on the day of the test.

​Preliminary Tests and Selection Steps

  1. Academics/Intelligence Tests: Multiple-choice questions will be conducted on computers at Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).
  2. Preliminary Medical Tests: Candidates will undergo initial medical tests at AS&RCs.
  3. Physical Tests: Candidates must qualify the following standards at the time of preliminary selection:
    • ​1.6 Km Run - 9 minutes
    • ​Push Ups - 10 repetitions in 2 minutes

  4. ISSB Test: Shortlisted candidates will receive intimation for ISSB tests through the website as well as call-up letters.
GHQ Selection Board: Candidates selected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) will appear before a Selection Board at General Headquarters for further selection.

VII.Further Selection Process and Training

  • ​Detailed medical examination of candidates recommended by Inter Service Selection Board will be carried out at nearby Combined Military Hospitals.
  • ​Candidates who are recommended by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) will be called for interview by the General Headquarters Selection Board at the respective Army Selection & Recruitment Centre.
  • ​Final selection will be made at General Headquarters (GHQ) on the basis of candidates' overall performance.
  • ​Military Training: 6 Months at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul.

Further Selection Process and Training

VIII.Ineligibility Conditions

​An applicant will be permanently ineligible for all types of commission in the Armed Forces if they are:

  • ​Rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB)/General Headquarters (GHQ)/ Naval Headquarters (NHQ)/ Air Headquarters (AHQ) selection boards.
  • ​Twice rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) for postgraduate entry.
  • ​Twice rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) for intermediate/graduate (Pakistan Military Academy/ Graduate/ Equivalent) and once rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) or General Headquarters (GHQ)/ Naval Headquarters (NHQ)/ Air Headquarters (AHQ) selection boards.
  • ​Once rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) for intermediate/graduate (Pakistan Military Academy/ Graduate/ Equivalent) and twice rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) or General Headquarters (GHQ)/ Naval Headquarters (NHQ)/ Air Headquarters (AHQ) selection boards.
  • ​Twice screened out by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB).
  • ​Tested within four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance in Inter Service Selection Board except waiver granted by the competent authority. However, the bar of 120 days will not be applicable to candidates appearing in General Headquarters/ Naval Headquarters/ Air Headquarters based Selection board.
  • ​Dismissed/ removed/ debarred from Govt Services including Armed Forces.
  • ​Convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offence (to be ascertained by the competent military authority).
  • ​Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board.
  • ​Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (Appeal Medical Board cannot be requested).
  • ​Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college/ institution on disciplinary grounds.
  • ​Withdrawn/ discharged/ resigned or purchase of commission from any Armed Forces officers Academy/ Training Institution on any ground.
  • ​Tampering of academic certificates/ forgery concealment to get undue advantage will make an applicant permanently ineligible for all types of commission in Armed Forces.

IX.Documents Required at AS&RCs

  • ​Original certificates/ detailed marks sheets along with two attested photocopies of each educational certificate/ degree/ diploma.
  • ​Candidates serving in government Institutions/ Departments must render a No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the concerned Establishment.
  • ​Attested photocopy of domicile.
  • ​Photocopies of computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). NOTE: Expired National Identity Card will not be accepted.
  • ​4 x colored photos duly attested (front & back).
  • ​Candidates must bring their degrees duly verified by HEC / PEC & PVMC.
  • Endorsement Application Forms: While filling the application forms, ensure that information is endorsed in the respective paragraph/ columns and no column should be left blank.

BOND. Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 7 years. The applicability of bond will commence on successful completion of basic military training at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.
